Lymphatic Vacuum Therapy
Vacuum therapy is a non-invasive treatment to combat severe cellulite. It is carried out using suction devices that drain the adipose tissue and move the fat towards the lymphatic system. Vacuum therapy also helps to eliminate fat, it has an exfoliating effect, provides elasticity to the skin and relaxes the muscles.
Treatment Information:
1) What is Lymphatic Vacuum Therapy?
Lymphatic Vacuum therapy is an electrical method for lymphatic drainage where the lymphatic system is drained of toxins and encourage the metabolic digestion of liquid fat. This treatment should not replace exercise or movement.
2) What is the lymphatic system?
The lymphatic system is part of the body’s immune, digestive and endocrine systems. Composed of a network of lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, organs and tissues, including bone marrow, the thymus gland, the spleen, and the small intestine, it is essential for fat and liquid absorption, balanced hormones and the body’s ability to fight infection by ridding it of toxins, including cancer-causing pathogens.
A well-functioning lymphatic system is essential for health, being a key player in the body’s immune response and the prevention of disease. When people refer to a “sluggish lymphatic system” they are usually referring to a buildup of liquids and toxins, leading to a feeling of malaise, physical and mental fatigue, and uncomfortable bloating. When the lymphatic system is working optimally, it can lead to feeling more energetic, more slimmed down due to fluid removal and even increased mental clarity.
3) Benefits
- Boosting the immune system by supporting the removal of toxins
- Reducing water retention and the resulting bloating and puffiness by eliminating excess liquid stored in the tissues.
- Reducing the appearance of cellulite by supporting the lymphatic system’s function of fat absorption and processing.
- Improving skin tone by reducing liquid retention and fat deposits.
- Slims the body as fluids are eliminated and fat is processed more efficiently.
- Improves digestion as it supports the small intestine’s functioning.
- Provides a sense of relaxation with its gentle and nurturing strokes.
Conditions that can benefit from lymphatic vacuum treatment
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Fibromyalgia
- Chronic venous insufficiency
- lipedema
4) Who should NOT go for lymphatic vacuum treatment
- Acute inflammation– caused by bacteria, viruses and poisons are contraindicated. Tissues will be red, hot, and painful with congestion accompanied by fever. Lymphatic drainage will push these substances into the lymph channels before the body has a chance to eliminate them. This way one can spread the toxic substances throughout the body. It is best to wait a few days until the condition is not acute and the body has had a chance to clean up the area.
- Malignant tumors– there is a fear of spreading the cancer.
- Thrombosis– can lead to free floating blood clots in the circulatory system.
- Major heart problems– Pumping more fluid in the heart it may stress it more than the actual condition.
- Kidney problems
- Bronchial asthma
- Thyroid problems
- Chemotherapy
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women
- Removed spleen
- Menstruation
5) How many treatments are required?
It depends on each patient, areas to be treated and the follow-up of the treatment, but between 4 and 12 sessions should be sufficient to complete the treatment.
